Sneak peek/in progress

In making my knitted birds, they started out life-size, then I also designed smaller birds for key fobs that fit in the palm of your hand. But check out this even smaller, itty bitty birdie I'm in the middle of knitting!

It's going to be a magpie; this is just the first stage of creating the little head and body. The tail is next, then the wings, which will be in an outspread, flying position. I'm using 2.75mm needles -- finger-ache Central!

I've already featured these tiny three-dimensional birds as the decorative accent on one of my travel tissue pouches - as seen here with a crow/raven:

But I have some new plans for this small bird design in a couple of new product lines I have in mind, created with tiny doves, magpies, pigeons, etc as well as crows. I'm excited about my new items in development, as they will offer my customers other ways to enjoy my little birds adorning the home - watch this space for the finished projects! 😉
